Playa del Carmen
Wedding Photographer
We document love stories on the beaches of Playa del Carmen. Raw, honest photographs of the moments that matter — your first look, the ceremony by the sea, laughter with your closest people.
Every wedding is different. So is every photograph.
Some couples come for Playa's energy — the boutique resorts, the rhythm of 5th Avenue, the mix of luxury and locality. Others are drawn to the quieter coastlines or the wild beauty further south. Wherever your wedding takes you along the Mexican Caribbean, I'm here to tell its story.
PLAYA DEL CARMEN WEDDINGS
Playa del Carmen isn't just a place to get married.
Why Playa del Carmen couples choose us
We know this place.
Playa del Carmen is our home. We understand the light — how it shifts from morning to afternoon, where it's golden, which beaches give you clean backgrounds. We know the resorts and the pace.
We shoot real moments.
We're not here to tell you how to pose. We photograph the moments as they unfold — your genuine reactions, the real laughter, the quiet seconds before the chaos.
We know your vendors.
We've worked with coordinators, florists, caterers, and musicians across every major venue. We know which resorts allow which photography styles, where the best light is at 4 pm.
We create your Legacy.
We focus on creating memories that will last forever.
It’s a feeling.
We've been shooting weddings here since day one. Not just the big resort moments, but the quiet ones too — the way light hits your face during your first dance, your mom's expression when you walk down the aisle, the genuine belly laugh between cocktails and dinner.

Playa del Carmen Wedding Venues We've Photographed
After 50+ weddings along this coast, we know these resorts inside out — the ceremony spots, the light at every hour, and the angles that make each venue shine.
Hotel Xcaret México
One of the most architecturally striking resorts on the Riviera Maya. Hotel Xcaret blends Mexican design with the surrounding jungle in a way that gives you backdrops you won't find anywhere else — carved stone, flowing water, lush greenery at every turn. We've photographed over 10 weddings here and know exactly where to take you for portraits that feel cinematic without ever leaving the property. If your guests want more than a resort experience, the all-fun-inclusive access to Xcaret's parks makes the entire wedding weekend unforgettable.

Secrets Moxché
Modern, sleek, and designed with clean lines that photograph beautifully. Secrets Moxché is one of the newer adults-only resorts in the area, and the contemporary architecture gives your wedding images a polished, editorial quality. We've covered over 10 weddings here — the ceremony spaces are well-designed, the light cooperates, and the overall atmosphere is calm and sophisticated. It's a strong choice for couples who want luxury without excess.
Secrets Akumal
Quieter and more nature-driven than Moxché, Secrets Akumal sits along Akumal Bay surrounded by jungle. The vibe is greener, softer, more organic. Ceremonies feel intimate and grounded — the kind of setting where you hear birds and waves instead of music from the pool bar. It's ideal for couples who want something more understated and connected to nature.
Other Playa del Carmen Wedding Venues
We've also photographed weddings at Mahekal Beach Resort, Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen, Andaz Mayakoba, and private villas along the coast. If your venue isn't listed here, chances are we've been there — or we'll scout it before your wedding day.

Playa del Carmen Wedding Photography FAQ
How much does a Playa del Carmen wedding photographer cost?
Professional documentary wedding photographers in Playa del Carmen typically charge between $3,000 and $7,000 USD for full-day coverage. Our packages start around $4,000 USD and include timeline planning, a pre-wedding Zoom consultation, full-day coverage, and a complete gallery of edited images delivered within 12 weeks.
How far in advance should we book our photographer?
Most of our couples book 12–18 months before the wedding. Peak season in the Riviera Maya runs November through April, and Saturday dates at popular resorts like Hotel Xcaret México and Secrets Moxché fill up fast. If your date is within 6 months, reach out anyway — we may still have availability.
What's the best time of year for a wedding in Playa del Carmen?
November through May offers the most reliable weather — dry skies, warm temperatures, and beautiful golden-hour light for portraits. June through October is rainy season, but storms are usually short and mornings and late afternoons can still be stunning. We've shot in every month of the year here and know how to adapt.
Can you photograph weddings outside Playa del Carmen?
Absolutely. We're based in Cancún and photograph throughout the Riviera Maya, including Tulum, Playa Mujeres, Isla Mujeres, and Costa Mujeres. We also travel internationally for the right stories — previous work includes weddings in Ireland, Italy, and Puerto Vallarta.
Do you offer film photography?
Yes. Film photography is available as an add-on to any package. We shoot a hybrid approach — digital for the full day's coverage, film for intimate portraits and quiet moments. It adds a timeless, cinematic quality that pairs beautifully with the Riviera Maya's natural light.
Do you work with a second photographer?
For most full-day weddings, yes. Walter, our second shooter, joins me to cover multiple angles simultaneously — getting-ready moments, guest reactions, and different perspectives during the ceremony and reception. It means nothing gets missed.
What is sargassum and will it affect our wedding photos?
Sargassum is seaweed that can appear on Caribbean beaches, typically between April and August. Most resorts in Playa del Carmen — including Hotel Xcaret México, Secrets Moxché, and Secrets Akumal — clean their beaches daily. We also know which angles, locations, and times of day minimize any visual impact, so your photos stay clean and beautiful regardless of the season.
What happens after we book?
Once you sign the contract and pay the 10% retainer, your date is secured. From there, we schedule a Zoom call to discuss your vision, collaborate on a photography timeline, and coordinate with your wedding planner and other vendors. On the wedding day, we arrive prepared and ready — no surprises. Your full gallery is delivered within 12 weeks. Download our free Riviera Maya Wedding Playbook for a complete planning guide.
