An Elegant Xcaret Park Wedding
Natalie and Dennis flew in from Miami to get married at Xcaret Park, and they chose it for a reason: few places in the Riviera Maya have venues like these. The park is lush and wild, full of the cultural detail of Mexico, and they wanted their day set inside all of it.
We started with the first look, where they chose to read each other their vows before anything else. With that out of the way, the two of them were loose for the portraits, so we leaned into the landscapes, the stonework, the vegetation, the editorial frames we'd planned around the park's architecture.
The ceremony was at the Caracol, the spiral stone amphitheatre built around a sacred fire. Guests were received by Mayan performers calling out across the space on conch shells, and the traditional ceremony was led by a friend of the couple. It's a hard setting to describe and an easy one to feel.
Then dinner on La Isla, an underground island wrapped by a cenote, a floral-and-crystal canopy hanging overhead. The decor was extraordinary. And the party did not hold back: a callejoneada drumline, a catrina on stilts, CO2 guns, the chair lift, the whole room going.
Xcaret gives you more than most venues ever could. What made this one Natalie and Dennis's was that they used all of it, and never stopped enjoying it.
